I have an old fat 3.41 JB console that I transferred everything to a new slim legit console months ago. Slim is used for online and whatnot, I've never had the old fat one connected to net since JB'ing it. Since I wasn't able to deactivate psn account on old fat one with the older FW, how can I now delete the psn id info. on it? I ask because I'd like to browse the internet with the old one also, but fear $onny could/might detect the JB on it and associate it with the psn id/account I still use on the legit slim one. 1:Have I reason for concern? 2: Can I get rid of the psn id/account info. on the old fat one?
Any help is appreciated...Thanks in advance.

Sony won't do anything to you because you're on 3.41. Authentication to PSN probably changed in 3.61. But if you just want to, you can either delete it in the xregistry.sys or do Rebuild Database in the Recovery Menu

You mean an old fat console still on 3.41 will not send a bunch of info. to a bunch of different $onny addresses everytime you turn it on(if it's connected to the net). Why were people worried about being connected to the net when almost everyone was on 3.41 last year? Only newer FW's have all the $onny spy crap?

There's no rootkit in the firmwares. But if you wanna keep your data, Rebuild Database. If not, Restore System

but there is info sent over to Sony though. It doesn't matter if you have a PSN account on your PS3. As soon as the PS3 turns on, it tries to send info to Sony. Your best bet would be to disconnect from the internet

So...To keep my legit psn account "safe" on the newer console, I can NEVER have my old unit connected to the net ever again? That sucks. I'd like to be able to browse the net with my old unit also. Especially since my older fattie seemed so much better browsing the net than my newer slim. With the newer slim I can't seem to ever have more than one window open at time without constantly getting "out of memory" warnings which forces me to close ALL active windows. I NEVER remember getting these warnings using the old fattie.
On a side note, my slim also seems much slower to respond browsing/watching/scene selecting videos stored on the hdd than the old fattie. I mean pressing a button and it can take a second or two to respond, such as ffwing or scence selecting. Each unit has the exact same hdd and free space left. Why does the old fattie seem so much "faster" than the slim? Anyone else ever experienced this?

Also, I don't know how to get the option to rebuild database or restore system. If I did, wouldn't it also rebuild or restore my old psn account I originally created on it, thus gaining me nothing? Also also, I guess the $onny spy crap would still send my ip address and whatnot which could also be associated with my legit console? (Both units connected through same router)

Rebuild Database is in the Recovery Menu. And after you do that or you might be able to do it as Restore Default Settings. But when you do that, you can browse the internet freely if you want.

Doing what you described will not lose all my save games and videos stored on hdd, but WILL get rid of my damn psn id/sign in email/account? If so, sounds like what I need. I really wish some others would chime in to confirm...

Go to /dev_hdd0/home/0000000x and delete the exdata folder (x is username number, if you just have 1 account on your ps3 it will be 00000001 and so on)
    delete dev_flash2/etc
After all this it will ask to rebuild the registry, dlc will no longer be activated, and the PSN account will be gone from your system.
STOP! Before you ask questions... READ the first post! RTFFP = Read The F*cking First Post
Yes, A 3.55 "jb" (cfw) is available, no >3.55 "jb" or cfw yet.
Yes, A 3.55 downgrade is available. But not to lower than stock firmware! (What it came with)
No >3.55 downgrade is out there yet.
