How do you play a game without a disc in the drive?

I'm using Backup manager 1.72 (I believe) and I tried backing up one of my games (NHL11). But when I do the BD Backup, then try to start the game, I still need to insert a disc in the drive for the NHL 11 icon to show up in order to start the game.

What am I doing wrong?

I have been wondering this myself. I am using the right payload and the right bm but I always need a disc in the drive. I just gave up on the posibility of playing without the disc.

Not all games are working without disc in the BD drive.

And, if you're trying to load diskless, you need to load your game from app_home/PS3_GAME.

This is probably the issue. So we need to install the game in that directory in order to get it to play without a disc (assuming it can be played without a disc)?

This is not a directory to put the game there.
Is a folder icon in your XMB.
Above Install Packages folder.

I am at work right now, so I can't check my ps3. I remember seeing that and I always wondered what it was. I never bothered to mess with it though because I was afraid I was going to mess something up. So what exactly do I need to do? Load the game with OBM and then select app_home/PS3_GAME?
