OK, I just jailbroke my ps3, and installed ninga gaiden 2 sigma on my hdd. now everytime I run the game, it prompts me for update 1.01 for the game. I would be fine if it did that on startup only. But it comes up every 5 minutes or so.. you know in the middle of gameplay.

Is there a way to disable automatic checks for game updates online? Or is there something I could delete or change in the game directory so that it does not check for an update online?

I understand that I could simply disable internet connection for my ps3, but i need it because I use the ps3 web browser.

settings -> system settings -> automatic download is set to "off".

But I thought that only turns off automatic firmware updating. Is that supposed to stop automatic game uploading as well?

Set your internet connection in the system settings to "off" as well, and it won't be able to go online to check for updates and realize it doesnt have the latest one.

thats what i have done at the moment. but like i said i also use the ps3 web browser, so that means turning it off every time i play and then turning it back on everytime i run web browser. so i was hoping for a better solution, such as changing or deleting something inside the game folder so that the game does not know to look for updates (like we can do with jtag xbox 360 rip games in our hdd).

i search all around the web for other people facing similar problems and found no threads about this at all, leading me to believe that there might be a really simple solution to this that everyone except me knows lol.

    many options available

    OPTION 1

    disable network in settings

    OPTION 2

    unplug network cable

    OPTION 3

disable your PS3 on the router

    OPTION 4

set proxy to something random (anything)
