X:\PS3\UPDATE\PS3UPDAT.PUP - When you have the file in the UPDATE folder (the file has to be named PS3UPDAT.PUP, so rename it if it wasn't) you'll want to boot your PS3 and goto the System XMB and then find Firmware update in the menu (I believe it's under System Information or something like that), it will ask you if you want to update via USB or the internet. Select USB and plug in your thumbdrive. It will do the upgrade for you from there.

I'd personally just get yourself a new usb cable from your local electronics store and use the HTC. Once you get it rooted and the custom recovery image on there, it's a way more efficient device then the ipod's are.
I'm going into town tomorrow so I'll just pick up the cable then :) do you have a link to a step-by-step tutorial just so that I don't do it wrong (I have a tendancy to be stupid sometimes lol) :) I've updated and am now on 3.41 :)Quote:

And once it's rooted, follow any instructions for flashing a custom recovery image, but where it tells you to flash the image in the tutorial, instead flash the psfmod custom recovery from klutsh.com Once you do that, you just need to boot into recovery mode and one of the options will be for jailbreaking your PS3. Just select that and then follow the on-screen instructions.
