How to config PC-PS3 with cable?
How to config PC-PS3 with cable? –
anyone in the mood to explain, how i have to config my ps3 and my pc, that i can copy files to the internal ps3 hd with using a cable beetween ps3 and pc?
Plug a Cat5 cable between your PC and PS3. Go into the wired network settings on the PS3 and set it's IP to 192.168.1.10, Netmask 255.255.255.0, Gateway 0.0.0.0, and all other settings to 0.0.0.0 (you don't need a proxy, so don't program). Then on your PC, set your wired connection to IP 192.168.1.11, Netmask of 255.255.255.0, and no Gateway or DNS settings. Now, start up the FTP server on the PS3, load up your favorite FTP client on your computer, and goto the address 192.168.1.10. (You may/may not have to supply a username and password depending on the FTP program you use on your PS3). Once connected, copy the items you wish to copy over.
So easy ?
Thanks - will try it later.
@chesh - Ok that was helpful, well i was thinking that i shud need modem or router to configure.
Wats the approximate time for 10 gb data to transfer from my pc to ps3 ??
My pc is quite old one. 1gb ram only.
I don't think you can set the gateway on the PS3 to 0.0.0.0, it won't allow you. Set it to 188.8.131.52
Unfortunatly it won't work - PS3 wants a DNS to finish the config programm.
I used my PC Ip (and inserted the PC Ip on my networkcard as DNS as well), but i cannot access with FileZilla
Works now - just forgot to start blackbox ftp app..
Well know i can find the OMA46756 directory, but i get always a timeout during transfer...
NM, restarted the Client and it worked.
