how to cfw3.55 to 4.41 or higher
how to cfw3.55 to 4.41 or higher –
Ok, I have been searching about a week now and have had so many conflicting steps on how to do this. I have a older jailbroken ps3 2006 phat model. I have many downloaded games which work (all 3.55 cfw and lower no problems) when I go to my system settings it shows my firmware as 3.73. I bought this ps3 already jailbroken so I never installed the current multiman 2.03 version myself. I have read that I can not upgrade my cfw without downgrading back to 3.55 if I am above this. But I am confused, if my settings show 3.73 but I am able to play many (over 75 current games on external hd) through multiman, any newly downloaded game over 3.55 fw tells me I must upgrade to play it. So my question is, do I have to downgrade in order to upgrade my cfw past 3.55? I have been attempting to download various titles with the 3.55 fix (which I really dont understand which folder to even put the fix in)but it seems it would be much easier if I just upgraded to 4.41 or 4.46cfw in order to simply play any and all games available for download. Someone please lead me in right direction with very easy step by step instructions to accomplish this considering my situation. I've never even seen a 3.73 cfw so how can I even be playing these 3.55cfw and lower games on my ps3 if my settings show it as 3.73. Once all this can be established, my smaller issue but one I would like to solve next in future, I have a small internal hd showing 74GB capacity, I already know how to swap out the hd with a much larger one, but Im not sure how that affects my multiman and cfw moving forward. If it can be done without a hassel, I will do that as well. Thankyou anyone for the tips and help
You're not really on 3.73. You're on 3.55. It sounds like you have rebug's 3.73 spoofer installed. You'll need to run that app again and disable it so you're back on 3.55. You should just be able to install a 4.xx CFW without doing it but just in case you do have to uninstall it here's the link
4.00 Version Spoofer 2.1 | Codename: REBUG
Updating is easy. You just install the firmware from the update menu. A couple things you need to do first is QA flag your console. You also need to dehash your console if it's been downgraded before. You can find a quick guide here http://psx-scene.com/forums/f118/rag...5/#post1074208 (rage game disk wont load need help).
Yes. You are on 3.55CFW and your spoofer shows 3.73.
You can upgrade Automatically to any higher firmware. However, it is advised that - as menctioned earlier - Do the QA Toggle, and Make a dump of ur NAND/NOR. To do these two steps downoad the ToolBox Package from the Rebug page Codename: REBUG and complete these two steps.
Then take your Disc out of ur console, and uninstall the Spoofer, and delete it.
Now you are ready to update.
I suggest Rebug 4.41.2 Lite CFW (released may 1st). and MultiMan 4.40.00. and a 4.46 Spoofer.
Those are Very Stable and Very Useful as to all the new things out like all PSP/PS1/PS2 Classics on PS3
Thankyou very much for the info and fast response. Everything worked out great. I now have Rogero 4.40 cfw as well as multiman base 4.40 installed. everything running great. I am completely out of space for my data utility saving though and I need space badly on internal. I need to upgrade to a much larger hd, I understand how to do the swap, seems quick and easy enough, but can u tell me how this will affect my new installs on cfw and multiman. Can u give me steps in order to complete this last task. Thanks again!
