Hey I decided to make this little video showing a how to bridge you ps3 to pc using only a cat5 cable (no router in between)
If you are like me you have your router at the other end of the house making it difficult to upload files to the PS3 using only Wifi. Well not anymore check out my video
If you have any questions feel free to ask
Enjoy

i suggest this walkthrough instead - videos take too long, this is as good as it gets

for some people who dont know: you dont need a crossover cable, most modern network cards (including the ps3) have autosensing so it will work with a normal ethernet cable

It actually looks like your ps3 is connected to the internet. I saw where you had internet sharing disabled, but never know...
I setup mine differently and it works perfect. I just setup a static IP address for my ethernet port on the PC (192.168.5.1) and 192.168.5.2 on the PS3.
Then if you follow this below, you will be connected via the cable and not have any possibility that you will get access to the internet, and your connections won't be bridged.
Custom -> Wired Connection -> Manual Settings -> Auto Detect -> Manual -> IP Address (above), Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0, Default Router 1.2.3.4, Primary DNS 1.2.3.4 -> Automatic -> Use -> Address: 1.2.3.4, Port 8080 -> Enable -> Hit X for Enter -> Test Connection, then Cancel
If you have set it up properly, in Windows 7 your connections screen will look like this:

where were you when I was asking all these questions on those FTP threads that nobody respond back to man this would have helped so much
yea I see where I need to make changes but the one thing nice about my setup is that i can still use netfilx so i don't have to setup the wireless over and over again on the ps3.
