So I have always used XBOX360

but i do have a old 40g ps3 that has a drive that wont read disks...

1. Will this work still with it.
2. Done about 2 hours reading around here...lots of bs on the web (wasted days) this seems to be the place for "real answers" Im assuming just do the 3.55 update via tutorial here and there will be no psn access correct?

yes KMEAW CFW 3.55 is best bet for a Newbie, 3.55 OFW>3.55 KMEAW is what's suggested and yes there is no PSN access for any FW under current OFW

Most games run discless on Kmeaw 3.55 too. Some don't on CFW so your machine isn't useless. Might wanna get a large ext. hdd & even upgrade the internal drive though because a 40gb won't hold much if you wanna put much on there. It's not hard to do, just back up your system to a usb drive, replace the hdd & restore the system from the usb drive. The hdd slot is on the side & it uses a Sata 2.5 (laptop hdd).

Thanks...was wondering about that because its basically dead...also total noob ? but anyone point me in the right direction of backing up my game. I have an external drive to put it on

but they are huge and havent found a good place to get my backup data to my drive. PM if needed

Also hate to ask a noob ? but with my disk drive not working ive read that multimanager wont run without a disk

got it installed and can get in it but it prompts me to insert a disc when I click on certain things. Is there a fix or can you steer me in the right direction for a ftp that will work without a disk. MM asked for it when i tried the ftp

edit...im getting 2 diff. answers...will it work without in another thread someone else was having same problem...no solution yet. Ill be patient and keep searching...?s are abundant and only so many people have the time to answer the same over and over right now I have 3.55 k MM installed ftp and Gaia. Used the guide from luisgarcia87 very good guide.

basically when i go to one...and yes i have an internet connection it tries to load and screen goes black
