Help Running Homebrew [Broken Blu-Ray Player]
Help Running Homebrew [Broken Blu-Ray Player] –
09-04-2012,11:27 PM
Hey all just having some issues with my 3.55 JB PS3. Ive finally gotton around to installing some FTP programs on it. However i cant seem to open them as i just get a load error once they are selected.
Now as a lurker of these forums i heard some rumors that i cannot run Homebrew with a Blu-Ray drive that doesnt read discs. I mean its all plugged in and whatnot it just wont read them.
Im not sure what i can do to get around this nor even sure that this is the issue.
Any help would be excellent.
My skype is Mitchoxity or just leave a comment below
Kind Regards,
Mitch

ive heard fo people removing the bluray board from the drive, and just hook up the bluray board to the ps3 and leaving the bluray drive disconnected.
and if that dont work, it very well could possibly be your laser or your bluray board needs fixed. if your gonna take the ps3 apart, you might as well diagnose it, then fix it.
do you have a way to enter fsm?
you cant use the fsm app it will black screen or error out also. but first thing first....
remove the bluray logic board from the drive and hook up just the logic board to the ps3 and see f anything launches. if it launches.. then you know its the drive, and more than likely the laser.
what does the drive do when you insert a disc?

Hey No0bZiLLa,
Thanks for the prompt reply and taking the time to write that paragraph! I have Attempted to only hook up the logic board and still have had no results
When i insert my disc it will do the usual and show the Blue light on the MB. However it still doesnt appear to read discs OR launch the Homebrew i installed via the Install Package protocol.
Would you suggest i attempt to buy a new Blu-Ray drive? Or is there any alternatives to this problem.
Kind Regards,
Mitch
