help restoring user profile –

I there as all of you know we can have severes users profiles created on our ps3 my doubts are this ones
i deleted the first user that i created whan i bought the ps3, that user as a directory called 0000001 and its located unde dev_hdd0:/home/0000001 but once you delete that user you can never create it again because ps3 recognises that was deleted and you can never use it again and when you create another user it will create a folder 0000002 even if there is no 0000001 folder on that directory i have said before.
Before i deleted it i made a full copy of user 0000001 to my computer i've also already tryed to copy the 00000001 folder and rebuild the filesistem but it doesn't work is there any way torestore it?
thanks in advance

Edit the registry.sys to have that user registered.

Uh I think the full explanationof xregistryis on ps3dev.wiki but I bit I can't tell you the exact string name at the moment. Just go to google and type xregistry.sys and it should be the third or fourth one, the site that's ps3dev.wiki

I don't know how to thank you master737373 i managed to have look at wikipedia even that there was no guide on to do it i succeseful restaured the user 00000001 by editing the xRegistry.sys i have even aplied the unique id code so that the saves registred to that user work fine, i just used a litle of hex editing and the tool to modify that file.
i've all trophys back and all saves working all dlc working also from what i've played.
so as much thankful i could say it will never be enough.

I got a similar problem, just had my phat ps3 repaired and when I got it back I restored to default settings couse I couldn't get the output signal to my LCD to work. Anyway as you might suspect this removed the psn user details from my main account and all saves was useless for the trophy based games, now I found some info about re enabling the account with the use of xregistry.sys so I went on a little editing frenzy and added my old email, id and password for my old account and sure enough the "register psn account" icon was removed and replaced by the login icon...BUT...
To no use, when logging onto my PS3 account (not the PSN of course) I get an error of some sort, can't remember the numbers though. But everything works anyway except the saves, FFXIII gives me the trophy registration could not be completed string and quits. So I am wondering what I did wrong, did I miss something and forgot to add something? I just edited the three things I mentioned above. Do I have to use the rebuild database thingy from recovery mode?..
Would really appreciate some help...

I have the same issue as Nikorasu after getting my phat repaired and moving to a slim. All of my old saves and trophies error state "belongs to a different user". I've tried a restore from the system menu, I've tried editing the param.sfo files on the saves (some success but many not working).
I'd be really, REALLY grateful to hear what and how the xRegistry.sys was edited to get your saves working. thanks in advance

I'm home from work now and will start to figure this shit out, might have forgotten something in the registry but we will see. I'll update during the evening, btw. the save file trick works, atleast on FFXIII so the saves can probably be resolved if the activation fails...

Worked an absolute treat.
Went from a PHAT to a slim, both on 3.55 KMEAW and now have all of my saves - and trophies fully working on my new system!!!
