ps3 brick is there a way i can retrieve save data from hdd?

A little more information needed on this, which fw were you running at the time? fat or slim model? If it was CFW, which CFW?

There are a few different types of "bricks" out there, I messed around once and got the red screen of death brick and was able to repair it by going into recovery mode and re-installing my ofw then cfw back on top of it. (google is your friend)

also try reading through this tutorial, it's outdated, but should still help you out.

rogero 3.55 cfw phat model my ps3 turns on but i'm no stuck in loop just black screen and hdd light not blinking and ps3 won't let enter recovery mode and when i flick the power switch on my ps3 comes on automatically? maybe i'm not brick i don't you tell me
