help with pic 18f2550 –
i recently purchased a homemade psgroove stick from ebay ( i think its a pic 18f2550) now i want to update it to the latest payload so i can play the latest games and use latest software, i have tryed flashing the device in winpic800 but keep getting an error writing address 0x0000000, i also tryed the hid boot loader option but cant cant get the drivers to install on windows 7 64 bit any help would be appreciated TIA
What HEX files have you tried using? & do you know what bootloader your board has been made for?
If not I'd suggest contacting the seller to find out the details of the board.
You can find out what PIC chip it is by looking on top of the chip with a magnifying glass but it doesn't really matter.
ye its a pic18f2250, i tryed to contact the seller but no replie, don't have a clue which bootloader he use either, so what your saying i should do is install a boot loader first? which is the easiest way to do so?
Can you post a picture of the board so I can identify it.....
it was listed as a 18f2550 ....... i will post a picture later as i have to go to work , but it has like a black tight coating over it ( rubber like in texture) so i dont know if pictures will help, it also has 1 red LED at the end of the board .

i am correct in thinking if i have a bootloader installed the bootloader software will just load from pic when inserted?when i connect the device it installs drives and says a generic USB device is inserted
