I just got both the maximus avr usb 1.2 with atmel and pic boards. They both update. Plus you can take them out after boot-up. http://maxavrusb.blogspot.com/

But i think i loaded the wrong hex (kakaroto pl3 maximus?) onto the atmel, because it won't let me update it anymore. Still works. Hermes 4b works on Atmel too, no prob

And iLLness support would be nice for the 32kb pic board. I don't want to break another board.

    More Maximus support in general!

I used the kakaroto PL3 hex, from the latest compiled boards zip. Selected the maximus, atmel, 3.41, etc. I also have another max 1.2 atmel hexed hermes4b from the blog, and that works perfect. But the PL3 hexed atmel works on the PS3, but not on the PC, I can't update it? Thanks, hopefully I'll get some support from maximus soon

Latest Update. Maximus said it was likely a cold solder, I'm sending it back for repair. Thanks to VGC Repairs!, We DO IT RIGHT for all the help and support.

I've tried the Hermes V4B from maximus avr usb blog and that doesn't seem to work on my new Maximus Avr 1.2 32kb. Where can I find the right Hermes hax file for this device?

I got my Maximus 1.2 also and have been looking around for the correct hex. From what I've been reading, sounds like the KataRota PL3 payload is the one to get, but all I see for our AVRUSB 1.2 board is the Hermes 4b hex.

I'm still on FW3.15 and I've tried the Hermes 4b*FIXED* hex from the maximum blog site and it doesn't work (programs just fine..but when you pop it in the PS3 and start the exploit...the Orange light flickers on and off)...I guess it only works with FW 3.41...

Anywayz, I have done as lot of reading and found other hexes that might work (PSGROOPIC hexes, iLLNeSS hexes), but nothing solid. The one I know works somewhat is the PSGROOPIC 1.9a for FW3.15...I've tried 2.01 & 2.02 to no avail. Also the LED does not work with these. None of the iLLNeSS ones work for me (even the one he made for FW 3.15).

So long story short, looking for a working Maximus AVR USB 1.2 Hex that works on FW 3.15 that has working LED's is a hard venture.

Anyone able to port it over and get it to work? I know that it uses a PIC18F4550 chip.

    Thank you!

I guess it only works with FW 3.41...
Right! Hermes only works on 3.41 firmwares.

I used PL3 fixed/edited one from ILLNESS thread to flash my 360 nand spi board. Since the Maximus 32kb board is the same family then you should be able to use it as well.

I'm waiting on my 32kb Maximus board to arrive. I'll be testing it out very soon. It should use the very same range of hex files as my 360 nand flasher due to similar boards. BTW, this is the hex file you should need from ILLNESS thread: PSGrooPIC-iLLNESS 1.0c FIXED NUS dev_payload:

    Thanx for the feedback tonybologna!

I tried the NUS version with no luck.

Never thought to use the dev_payload version.

Damn, I though that was for PS3's with DEV Firmwares...but I guess it makes since if you had a Dev PS3, you wouldn't need to Jailbreak your console.

Oh well, I'll give it a shot!

I got my Maximus through VGCRepairs...got to me in 3 days (Fast!).
