Ok, basically; you can't put that file on the external HDD. Not yet at least. You only have two options (since FAT32 has a 4GB filesize limit);
1. Install (or FTP) the game completely to your internal HDD.
or,
2. Remove that z019_us.ps3.wmp file and FTP the game to your external -- or simply use a file manager (like Comgenie's) to transfer from internal to external.
The WMP file is the ending and credits, so you'll miss out on that if you wish to play from the external.

Yes its possible
I tried it today. What you need is Split4G![]()
wow thanks guys, i thought that file was an important part of the story, i guess it isn't so thanks again.
anyways, i have the 5gb file on my int. hard drive, but it just takes too much space for more and smaller games.
No. It is NOT possible. Stop spreading that nonsense about splitting files when you have no idea (judging by your recent posts) as to how it even works. Splitting files does NOT make them playable on the external. Period. Splitting large files is only for storage and/or shunting from external to INTERNAL. If you split the files and put them on external; they no longer work.
You're welcome =)
Technically, it is an important part of the story; it's the endingLuckily you can play the movie in VLC or even just watch the ending on YT or whatever, if you're really hard up for internal HDD space.
dont suppose you had any luck with the similar z008_us file?
or did you not have it?
(heard that apparently different regions have different sizes of these two files though never had it properly confirmed)
tried removing it but as far as i can tell it causes a black screen around chapter 12 if i remember right (havent got that far but friend told me he tried that too, ended up putting on internal) - so not really an option to just delete it if you want to play - the end credits doesnt bother me that much
havent played this game in ages and i dont have the space on my internal so if worst comes to worst then i'll just have to play it from disc but just wondered if theres any way of compressing a wmp file as this one is only around 4.1gb so was trying to squash it a little, lol
may sound like a really stupid question but figured lowering the quality etc somehow may bump off the little over the 4gig mark to make it fit on a fat32 drive even if this does comprimise the fmv slightly?
as i say if not then no worries - i just like everything to be organised and if i'm honest i'm particularly lazy and cant be bothered to change discs all the time (i even use the controller to turn on the ps3 99% of the time so i dont have to get up)
if you guys know of a suitable way to get this to work then cool if not then cheers for reading anyway
EDIT: actually, never mind - seems to be the 4gb file size limit is 4gb binary which is 4,294,967,296 bytes and the file itself (z008_us) is actually 4,146,894,854 therefore just under and looking like there is a 4.1gb file on a system that doesnt accept over 4gb, lol
in short there appears to be no problem with copying that file over - its sat there on my fat32 now and cant wait to tell my mate that he's using up space on his internal for no reason other than the end credits though i may wait until i get that far to make sure that it doesnt black screen on me before i try to rub it in, heehee
