    Hello,

I have a BC ps3 60GB CECHC01, I also have a 4.30 Rogero Custom Firmware. I would like to change this to the Cobra 4.30+ CFW (once it is released, just need the instruction now) safely without bricking the ps3. Can you please give me the proper instructions on doing this. I have no clue!!!

Could I not just format and then install Cobra cfw, why need to go to previous version. I already have the correct version for the new cobra cfw. 4.31 to cobra 4.31?

Im not really a expert at this man but the safest way for me and wht i would do is just go back to 3.55 and update to cobra 4.31 just to avoid errors

Sorry I cant choose this route, returning to 3.55 means using the flasher and that is risky too and damage all the console. When I go to my settings it says 4.31 for the version. There must be a way to go from 4.31 cfw to cobra 4.31!!!

You need to wait for the Cobra 4.xx CFW to come out first(if it ever does), then follow the directions they provide. Why are you so concerned when you don't even have the firmware?

I doubt they will have any instructions for changing cfw, what is the normal procedure for changing cfw? I am just concerned about bricking the thing, I have the cobra USB.

Also you don't need hardware flashers if on CFW to downgrade back to 3.55 to safely dehash your system and set QA flag to ensure 100% chance of NOT BRICKING. Everytime I change CFW's I use Rebug's downgrade PUP then QA flag and install new CFW as my syscon has then been dehashed.
    PS3 CECH-25001 Rebug 4.41.2 "Lite" 1tb iNt & 2tb eXT mM 4.40.00

Back online thanks to Primee for the legit PSID!!

If they release no instructions, then ther will at least be some discussion on this site about how to install it. If you really want to avoid bricking, then do your research then. If you get it in your mind that there is a certain way to install it, before the firmware is even out, then use that method, you are asking for a brick.

If you really want to risk bricking, then the most probable safe method is to go back to 3.55 OFW then install the Cobra firmware in recovery mode.
