Okay, so originally I installed the Kakaroto 3.55 over my 3.41 (unmodded in any way.) PS3, then I did the GEOhot update to give it unsigned access, however when I tried to give the the GEOhot update it copied over the update but didn't really install it, so next I tried to install SNES9X onto my PS3 with the install homebrew package option, and it did not work.

I tried to install the Poke/peek 3.55 next, and the ps3 told me that I already had my PS3 up to date, and I could not install it, I thought that there was just something wrong with the PUP I was trying to install, however after 2 months in the mail, my PS3key finally came today, so I downloaded the Downgrade from 3.55 to 3.41 and it gave me the same message, that it didn't need this update. Am I doing something horribly wrong here? When I update, I put the PUP into PS3/UPDATE/ and it's named PS3UPDAT.PUP like it should be, I go to 'system update' and choose storage media, but my PS3 just seems like it doesn't want to install any kind of Firmware update now.

    Any advice? I'm pretty annoyed.

Well then, you're obviously not following instructions. You need to downgrade, so you need to use service mode. Read here: http://psx-scene.com/forums/f188/3-5...uctions-75743/

I see, I downloaded a Downgrade from somewhere else that just came with the .PUP, this time I downloaded your linked one, I'll try it when it's down using the method described in that post, thank you for your help, I'll let you know if it works!

I believe if you go to ps3key's website you'll find the necessary file to flash onto your device to turn it into a service mode enabler.
