Have you had a brick AFTER installing Waninkoko CFW?
Have you had a brick AFTER installing Waninkoko CFW? –
I apologize for making a thread after just registering, however I believe this is an important topic and needs to be known as soon as possible. We need to know if anyone has seen their console become bricked after successfully installing Waninkoko's CFW. Please post in this thread if this has happened to you.
EDIT: This has not happened to me.
EDIT2: After meaning you have successfully rebooted the PS3 and gotten to the home screen.
EDIT3: I think I made this thread on the wrong subforum, thanks.
There's a very REAL chance of it happening during any sanity checks by Lv1 on Lv2.
Do you know how that would work? To brick the console the PS3 has to rewrite the flash right? Is it going to do that just because Lv2 doesn't match? Wouldn't it be dangerous to write anything to flash without telling the user?

Bricked a 60GB here.
Flashed it on GeoHot's CFW. All the MD5 and SHA1 hashes were matching though.
Now hopelessly waiting for a unbricking method that doesn't involve soldering or anything :/
wont happen, only solution buy new ps3.

Do we really need 10+ threads on the exact same topic?!? If you have a CECHG or below model number you're going to get a brick. The reason is Wanin made lv2 bigger so he'd have more memory to play with in his CFW (think injecting payload right into lv2) and that's why users with different size NAND's (256) are bricking. Now, please continue this discussion on one of the other threads.
We need a topic for this. I've heard rumors that installing this can brick your PS3 at any point in the future after installing it, need to confirm if that's bullshit. Based on the replies I'm going to assume it is.

Good luck changing your CPU.
