Harddrive install affect cfw and multiman?
Harddrive install affect cfw and multiman? –
I have just updated to Rogero 4.40 cfw as well as multiman base 4.40. Everything is running great, but I am completely out of space for my data utility saving for future games and I need space badly on internal. I need to upgrade to a much larger hd, I understand how to do the swap, seems quick and easy enough, but can u tell me how this will affect my new installs on cfw and multiman. Can u give me steps in order to complete this last task. Thankyou for any and all help.
You'd just have to put the new hard drive in. It'll ask you to format it when you turn your PS3 on. Do that and install the same CFW that you're on now. Then just instlall multiman and start putting all your stuff back
I've never tried this so I don't know if it works or not but you could try one of those disk cloners like Acronis True Image. It should work as long as you did a byte for byte copy to the new drive. The only thing that might screw you up is if Acronis can't handle the partition table. It should be OK if it doesn't. Just try copying the drive and if you get a message when you hook up the new drive that it needs to be formatted it's OK. It should only rewrite the partition table and system area. Your other files should be intact
Notice I said should
