Gonna grab another from ebay, if i make sure the firmwares the same as my post-bricked one will a harddrive swap give me my saves and trophies back?!

No it will first boot>ask for the fairmware last used (version) and then format your HDD..
the HDD then write a hardware number on the drive and if the hardware number do not match it will refuse to work untill its formated... HDD are not swap and go when it comes to ps3.. I done a few
sheeeet. No way to transfer that data after the install, like ftp?
The only way I know of is to save all your gamesaves to a jump drive from the xmb, sync trophies to server, and then wipe it clean. As for a dead PS3 I don't think it's possible.
I tried transferring a profile+trophies to a different PS3 with no luck. They're signed to each individual console.
What sucks is it's really easy to just cheat and platinum every game. But no, if you want to be legitimate it's near impossible.
