I have a ps3 Im working on that has no video or audio, I dont need any advice such as hold down the power button for blah blah....I have a good backround in ps3 repair, I figured I would try to reflow the gpu....no luck, I was wondering if I should try to reflow another component, maybe replace the gpu. Any suggestions?

Same problem here, I'll tell you what I did. It started about 5 months ago, while playing the fan would start running really loud, and one of those days out of nowhere the PS3 shut down. When I turned it on, ta-da yellow light. I fixed it with the heat gun + arctic silver 5, it worked for about 2 months, then it happened again, fixed it again but this time it lasted about 1 month, when the YLOD came again I tried to fix it but this time it didn't work, I got the same problem you guys have, green light, no video, no sound, and it didn't detect my controller plugged in via USB. Tried again fixing it to no success, so I had to buy a new one.
At least I sold the old blu-ray drive to a friend that had a faulty one, sold the new HD(had a 500GB on the old one), and the new controller(had 3 already) and since I bought it on GameStop they are offering a free $50 giftcard when you buy a new PS3 and I sold it too, for $40 to a friend, so I ended up paying like $60 for a new PS3 in the end.
So guys I think you will have to buy a new one, because I asked a friend of mine who fixes PS3's and Xbox's for a living and he told me that he hasn't been able to fix one that has this problem. If any of you manage to fix it, please let me know how.
