What firmware you have now ?
3.40
Just go Settings > System Settings > Enable Atrac and Enable WMA Support.
DivX files are played by default.
I tried that and it said connect to internet to validate or something along those lines.
You can connect to the internet if you want, but dont update the firmware if you prompt to do it.
I am not sure if is needed to connect to PSN for enabling this.
Iam just concerned as soon as I let it connect it will start updating or something. not sure exactly how that works.
Is not so automatic.
If you connect to internet and not to PSN then you will not prompt you for firmware update at all.
If you try connect to PSN because the Enable options have to connect there then a message inform you that is a firmware update and you must have it to connect to PSN.
You can press cancel there and you are stay at 3,40 firmware.
But then you cant connect to PSN and you cant enable the options you want...
