    Hi,
i recently tried going back to 3.55 OFW on my PS3 Slim 120gb from Geohots 1st CFW in recovery mode and this resulted in the RSOD with the 'serious error' message.
Just to clarify, is my PS3 dead with no possible way of fixing?
    Thanks.

Are you sure you updated with the Recovery mode? Most people get that from updating using Service mode which are two completely different things. How did you get into this "Recovery Mode"

No, it will let you do it and then give you a RSOD on reboot.

I went from OFW->GeoCFW->OFW->GeoCFW all via System Update in xmb. Were you doing it via holding I/O for two beeps?

All you got to do to fix it is, get out of service mode and restore your firmware via recovery.
