Game Back-Up Help

im new to all of this so i got a few questions.
if i insert a game into the drive and back it up to my external harddrive can i just wait for a patch & crack is released so i can run it on FW 3.55 ?
i just thought it would be easier that way rather than having to download a whole 40GB+ of game data only to have to transfer it to my hard drive in the end.

does it matter which region game you download anyway ? most the new games are USA and im on PAL. pretty fed up of waiting for the correct region

I get the games now so I dont have to get all the games all at once later because theres a good chance that when a new CFW or crack/patch comes out they will work. And you dont need to worry about what region it is because PS3 games are not region locked.

so you basically saying back them up now and just wait for the crack and patch to be released ? because i can get the games new but didnt know if i could just put them in the ps3 then just back them up and still use a pact and crack to run them later on in life.
Thanks for clearing up the region bit by the way, since its region free that gives me a better chance of getting games i really want fast but some download links are so rubbish

Yeah, cracks usually come out first for game versions that are being downloaded so if you backup one of those versions it should be good later on, and it sounds like a new CFW or a whole lot of patches will be released pretty soon.

cool. i should be doing a lot of back-ups then. kinda wish it was as simple as the xbox though to be able to just burn the games to disk and load it straight up. im really curious about this TRUE BLUE DONGLE though thats coming out. if it truly does what it says that would help everyone a lot. pretty shocking that no newer and simpler jailbreaks have been released in a long time, its like they dont care about playstation anymore
