    I've seen a a lot of people afraid that in the future ps3 games will be unable to be played with the current firmware / jailbreak.

    But I noticed no one has mentioned that you can download patches from sony via your computer and manually update your firmware so if you were to ever get banned from psn and unable to play future games all you would have to do is download the latest firmware from sony and update it manually.

    Then you could continue buying / renting games as if nothing has changed.

    But other then that the sony has factory reset / formatting capabilities that would remove any trace of the jailbreak and its very unlikly that after you remove those things that sony would even consider burning your playstation.

    So all I have to say for those afraid to do this for fear of the future your looking at it wrong buy this 40 dollar device to play a few 1000 dollars worth of games that are out now that you always wanted to play and if for some reason in the future games can no longer be played and you beat all the games that are out now that you want what 4 years worth of 60 dollar games ? you just update and go back to buying them.

    I'm making this post just because I think its silly for people to be worried about what could happen with future games playability deciding that they don't want to buy it.

    Also Another thing I wanted to mention since so many users complain about downloading 40 gig games 8.95 block buster subscription buy one copy the game send it back get another

    @Thatdude888:

    I agree with you. Just play as long as you can with PSJB and if you are getting tired of it or can't play the new games anymore update your PS3 and you're good to go.
    I don't think Sony will ban you. They will more likely try to convince you to update by offering great things which you can only use on the newest fw.

    If you do that, I think the safest bet is to put in a new hard drive and start from scratch. Don't copy over your profile or saves as this could 'taint' your profile that gets uploaded to PSN.

    That won't work. Your PSN account is tied to your console, not your hard drive. You have to go into account management and DEACTIVATE your PSN account from the GAMES and VIDEO option to untie it from your console.

    well, I was thinking about reformating the hard drive to delete any stored caches or logs that could be uploaded once I reconnect to the PSN.
    I don't think anything important is written to the flash in regards of what games I have recently played or which hacks I used.
    That's just speculation though. Maybe the data already got uploaded, my PS3 is still connected to the internet. I just can't sign in to the PSN because I'm still on 3.41, but I can still download game updates.
    Only Sony knows what stuff and when it gets uploaded to their servers.
    I just hope they don't start banning people for using PSJB.

    Almost guaranteed they will. If Joe Blow can see someone on their friends list using PSJB, then Sony certainly can. Banned consoles = more console sales. Why do you think Microsoft does their mass bans in November, just before Christmas shopping season?
