FTP to PS3: Extremely Slow Browsing Between Folders!!
FTP to PS3: Extremely Slow Browsing Between Folders!! –
For a few days now i've been experiencing a weird problem with my FTP connection, where it takes over a minute to browse/navigate between each folder (from folder to folder) within my ps3..
And the worst part is the beginning phase where after connecting to my ps3, it takes a few mins just to display all my ps3's folder directories (dev folders, hdd0, etc) and then it'll take another minute to get into my LAUN12345 and then another minute to get into GAMEZ... its like it just hangs before i can get into the folder..
I don't remember changing any settings on my laptop or my ps3 and im using a wired connection... It was working instantly for the past 4-5 months but been causing problems these past few days..
I've changed my ethernet wire, i've tried using FTP PS3 + blackboxFTP, i've also tried Filezilla and flashfxp but still the same problem...
I googled the problem and found this, a guy who experienced similar issues: ftp browsing really slow - PowWeb Community Forums but again, there's no solution...
Hope someone out there can help...

try to change the cable it may be damaged or something(which will for sure inflict in the transfer speed/connection)
IF u're not you may be on some conflict between ur PS3/PC's ip change both and try again.
open Start => find CMD and open it as Administrator.
Now type : ipconfig /flushdns [ENTER]
nethsh winsock reset [ENTER]
Restart your computer and try again
First calm down.
Are u using some kind of Router?
Sorry for the duplicate post...
Yes, my laptops connected wirelessly to my Belkin N1 vision router but i have a wired connection between ps3 and laptop
You can try switch to Wireless connection instead of wired just for testing.
U'll have to set up ps3 connection again if it didn't help at all we'll figure something out.
I always use FlashFXP for my FTPing Needs, download it add a connection go to the tab called "Toggles" make sure the box is empty for "use passive mode" then after should work fine. i use gaia manager to FTP also, and then use FlashFXP to FTP.
But if you dont wanna change the programs try to turn off "passive mode"
progz is right,
disable pasv and problem is solved
How do you disable passive mode on filezilla? from what I understand, i did the following on filezilla:

Again that hasn't solved the problem
Thanks for helping out though guyzz
