FTP With Crossover Cable CFW 3.55

I just purchased a crossover cable to directly hook my laptop up to the ps3 so that I can copy files over to the harddrive. I was getting slow speeds on my wireless network and do not have enough ethernet cable to run everything wired on my network. Can someone please give me detailed instructions on how to use a crossover wire and blackbox ftp to connect my laptop directly to the ps3? I would really appreciate it. I have seen some posts on here but they were very vague. I am looking for something a bit more specific. Thanks!

It's really quite easy, you just need to make sure that both your devices have an IP in the same range and the same Subnet, and your good to go...

Example config on PC:

IP: 10.10.10.1
Subnet: 255.0.0.0
Gateway: 10.10.10.1
DNS: 0.0.0.0 (you don't need one)


PS3:
IP: 10.10.10.2
Subnet: 255.0.0.0
Gateway: 10.10.10.1
DNS: 0.0.0.0

This should work out for you, direct connection from your ethernet port on your laptop to the PS3.

Please note that you may lose internet connection when your configured that way, but with this IP it shouldnt' affect your home network configuration (unless your home network is using a 10.x.x.x/8..)
