Finding a PS3 with 3.55 Firmware

Morning All, my trusty old PS3 phat finally bit the dust last night with the YLOD. I'd had this repaired once in February which fixed it then, but now a few months later its back. Luckily I took a 2 year extended warranty so they should be sending me the cash/voucher for a new one.

1) That brings me on to my question. I realise it is going to be like finding a needle in a haystack, but does anyone know of anywhere in the UK, that might have stock of PS3's with 3.55 firmware or lower??

2) I'd replaced the original 60GB hard drive with a 650GB which I'll obviously be removing but any chance of me getting my old saves and data off?

where in the UK are you?.. i have a slim thats been used for around 1 week in total (installed KMEOW 3.55 and had a play thats it)..

I spend all my time on the xbox; and i have another slim that i use .. bought this particular one in preparation for home-brew (XBMC), but doesn't look like that's happening soon.

Pickup only preferred as its heavy.

See if the stores have a Bundle of the PS3 with either Move or GT5
I got a GT5 bundle, and first i got it with 3.50 ( but the bluray drive wasn't working..weird being "new") returned it and got another Bundle, and this one came with 3.40 LOL i was like.. wow...*updates to 3.55 then CFW!!*

Hi folks -- I have a moddable CECH-2001A Slim PS3 120GB for sale. It was my ex-roomie's -- she bought it as a reward for participants in a university study, and then went on a 2-year road trip. It is UNOPENED because the participant never claimed it.

This is about as good as you're gonna see. Comes with a controller and your choice of MLB 07, Army of Two or Rainbow Six Vegas. I know, I know.
