A few questions regarding the Super-Slim.

I have a few questions on my mind about the super-slim before i purchase it, so i thought i'd come here as this seems the best place to get the right answers.

1# Does it take a Sata "2.5 hdd? if i was to upgrade the hard drive, i'm sure it is as i've seen a tut but would like someone to confirm it.

i'm assuming this means you can only use a external hard drive and not use the inner 12gb when the external is in use?

2# what firmware will it come with out the box (if you know) and can you mod/flash it?
if so please state which model numbers are moddable and which ain't so i can pick the right one and if it will come with the right firmware to modify it.

3# has anyone flashed it yet? if so, please state what you used or link me to a working thread as it would save alot of time me looking for one/thinking if its going to work or not and ruining the system.

4# does it play .avi extention?.. back in 2010 my fat one did but i heard due to a firmware update they stopped it.

I'm sure this thread will help quiet a few other people too that might be interested in purchasing it.

You will NOT be able to flash a super slim PS3 with CFW

If you want to buy a ps3 to mod it, then the super slim won't work for you. Since you're new I won't go into the difficulties of buying a flasher for older ps3's. I would suggest trying to buy a ps3 that's on 3.55 or below from ebay or somewhere else online. That's the best way to get started for you

i'm not interested in buying a console from anyone, if i do purchase one its going to be brand new from the shop, upgrade the hdd and then flash it (which was the plan) unless you can hook me up with a flashed super slim for £30 lol

good luck finding a NEW console that can utilize CFW............

look for a console that is not a Super Slim (Cannot have CFW period)
you will have to look for a console that can be downgraded to 3.55, check which ones here ==> SKU Models - PS3 Development Wiki
once you get a console that CAN be downgraded you will need a hardware flasher to downgrade with. (E3 Flasher is recommended; google it)
