A few questions...

Hey,
Im currently running Geohots 3.55 CFW but am looking to upgrade to Kmeaw or Wutangrza or something. Am I correct in thinking that I have to downgrade back to 3.55 OFW and then back up to Kmeaw or Wutangrza? Also I have some emulators installed on my system. Will I have to reinstall these after upgrading?

You're best off going to OFW first and then to a new CFW. Kmeaw's is the best in my experience. And, no, you won't lose anything. Just when you downgrade/format.

for changing firmware. yep, 3.55GH>3.55OFW>3.55KMEAW

as for the emulators, maybe. some homebrew have different packages for different CFW - one for GH/WT and the other for WANINKOKO/KMEAW.

and other homebrew work for all 3.55 CFW. It shouldn't be a hassle to re-install though, if needed :P

How can I tell if my downgrade from geohot 3.55 to 3.55 OFW worked? I just tried it with the 3.55 OFW file from "3FL Downloads" from the "Sony shutdown access to Update Pup's ,get yours here!" thread. but my emulators are still there and work. I would have downloaded the 3.55 OFW from the other link in that thread but ps3news wont let me DL the file saying it wants me to become a member level member or something.

i think if you check your firmware version on system settings it should just say 3.55 if your still on geohotz i think its 3.55jb but dont quote me its been a long time since i used it

If your emulators were signed right, they'll work in 3.55 OFW. But, the best way to know you've got 3.55 ofw, is to download it from here: Ps3OsRels - EurAsiaWiki

Nope Install packages was gone. Ive since determined that the downgrade worked. I have upgraded to 3.55 Kmeaw.
One thing tho, what is the "/app_home/PS3_GAME/" thing? When I click on it I get "Error 80028F14".
Also I have tried to backup "Metal Gear Solid 4 GOTP" to the stock 40GB Hdd but I cant get it to play off the Hdd with Multiman.
