I am having lots of freezing and crashes after installing CFW particularaly when exiting things. This issue is related to CFW though because it never happens when I have OFW installed. I can play all day long with no freezes. Anyone have any idea what may be going on? I can provide a list of MFW patches I applied. The console is a US console.

You could try another CFW, like Kmeaw. Some CFW may be less stable than others, and none of them will probably be as stable as OFW.
Kmeaw even freezes on me sometimes, but it's not very often.

what types of issues? have to be a bit more specific

If I knew what was causing the issues I could tell you. I tried a range of different versions of CFW and always have freezing problems. It freezes during game play back upor original and it also freezes when returning to XMB I'm at a loss as to why. I have another PS3 with the same setup that runs great. But as I said I dont think its the hardware because I have no troubles when using OFW. even freezes at boot once in a good while.
Never freezes when in multiman or any other homebrew. just when playing games and during XMB loading/returning to XMB.

sounds like a HDD problem

Oh. Ill have to try another drive. but if it was the hard drive then why am I problem free during use of OFW?

Well, one thing about CFW and backup managers is that it loads a lot of the data from the HDD. Most games periodically recover data from a source and load it into the memory. On OFW, the process is pretty much reads the data source from the disk then load it into the memory. The HDD is usually only used to store DLC and do saves so the probability of it locking out in OFW is far less than CFW.

Ok I finally swapped the drive out and it seemed ok but then I started using it while and now it is doing the same thing.
