F1 2010 compatibility with firmware 3.41

Hello,

I was considering buying formula 1 2010 for my PS3, but after reading about it, i found out that it comes with the firmware update 3.42 on the disc, and it is required to be able to play the game.

Is there anything i can do to make the disc playable, without updating. Can i install it and patch it somehow? Or modify my ps3 in some way?

Im assuming if this isnt already possible, someone is no doubt working on it, since all games from now on will probably have this as the minimum firmware needed.

I will stay on firmware 3.41 for the ability to run homebrew, but i do like to buy games and it would be a high price to pay to not be able to play the latest.

There's another thread on here somewhere about F1 2010.

The rumours of it having Firmware 3.42 are a vicious lie. It can be backed up without any problems.

Well, saying "Without any problems" is kinda inaccurate since the game does not work when backed up. Yes it can be backed up but it doesnt work

but it does work when playing it from disc just make sure ethernet cable is unplugged. Play n hope u enjoy as i said in other thread i managed to get to interview part of game looks poor compared to xbox 360 version i saw in game shop today. Cud be a beta knocking around n thats why it wont play.

Wrong, it works here perfectly as a backup without the F1 2010 disc in it (other PS3 game instead).

Are you playing the game with a steering wheel? No one has been able to play the game with the controller so what are you doing differently

Yeah that's the key. Unplug that wheel and you will see it doesnt work anymore

Yeah I know..that is what people are trying to figure out..what the trick is to making this work because its pretty obvious that Sony probably did the same thing to every single future game that is coming out
