    Hi There,

I have a 80gb ps3 console, and I am looking into getting more space on it for personal reasons

I was wondering, if i should get an HDD or just a USB?

What are the best offers going?

also which is the most compatible with the 80gb ps3?
    (for ps3 lifetime)

    any help appreciated, thank you.

you will need a bigger hard drive. mine used to be an 80gb but i recently upgraded to 500gb. i recommend western digital all the way like. it only cost me £44.99 which is spot on in my opinion.

also make sure its only a 5400rpm not a 7200rpm as it can overheat ur playstation and it only speeds it up like a few milliseconds lol

    Jap Console/Wutang+Geohot patch CFW 3.55/Gaia Manager 2.04/WD 500gb HDD

any 2.5in/9.5mm SATA laptop hard drive should work, western digital is a popular choice, best to go with internal because there's better game compatibility.

Hdd is much cheaper than USB by about 20 bucks from where I live. I've been thinking of upgrading my 80gb to 320 or 500 gb. My real problem is whether I should order online or pick one up at best buy. I just don't like to pay the 7 dollar shipping fee when I can just drive there which us only like 3-4 miles away from my house.

I've got both. Internal and external.

No speed difference or any benefit between the two i can tell.

Internals are a bit cheaper but then again many people have a spare hd they could convert into usb anyhow.

Do PS3 system have a limit foir HDD size? i was looking into 1TB internal 2.5 ..

At the moment I have CFW waninkoko, and a couple of legit backup on my HDD ( seriously, my own discs for the sake of speed loading ........ ok, 2 of them are not mine.... but anyways.. )..
I have a bunch of PSN games and DLC...

Now, how can I safely upgrade without loosing those ??? I never switched discs before, so I don't know what is waiting for me, and what is the procesure with disc upgrade and and CFW..do I revert to OFW and then switch?? then install 3.55 OFW, recover my PSN games and just then Waninkoko again?
