External HDD static/interference on tv?
External HDD static/interference on tv? –
well i got an enclosure for my old's pc hdd (500gb 3.5"), no problem when playing on an hdtv(hdmi), but on an old sdtv or a small lcd(component cables), on the first case i get noise on the screen as soon as i plug the usb on the ps3, and on the lcd the display signal is lost (i suppose because the lcd cant handle that little interference/noise), so whats causing this? the 3.5" hdd? the cheap enclosure? component cables not shielded properly?, i forgot to test the components on the hdtv tho, but it happens with the regular AV cables included with the ps3.
sounds like improper shielding either in your USB cable (most likely the culprit) or your AV cables. If you have a different usb cable laying around from something else, try swapping that out and it should fix the problem
Had the same on xbox. Was my componentcable. Using the Ms original was the solution.
