External HDD corrupt by a game, how can i tell what game it was?

hi all, i am scared to play a game from my external HDD, after playing some games last night, i saw today my external HDD was corrupted, my GAMEZ folder was gone and 4 new maps where there.

Now i am running getdataback for fat, its running now for 16 hours, i think he found all the games back, i am copying them now to another HDD, hope they will work again, when it finished it will be 19 hours of seeking and copying with that program.

Now my Question is, is there a way to find out what game did the corruption?
I think i tested the game Start the Party when i crashed, could this be the one who did the corruption?maybe another one , this are the games on the harddisk, i know gran turismo is not working, the rest are working games. Directory Name Id Date OS version Game version Psp remote play Size

How can i in the future handle so my HDD never get corrupted again, i dont wanna loose 300 gig of games and do this steps again to recover.

ps i have seen some strange file in my game folder, options.ini , i only see that file in one game, ( forget wich one ) , is that file normal, i dont think my ps3 need it, can i delete that one?

Hi friend,

I faced the same problem when I played the Kung fu rider. It took me 20 hours to recover with getbackdata and everything was playable after the recovery :-) . The only way I found in order to find games which could corrupt again my drive is to try them first on a smaller old HD...

did your Kung fu rider work well or did it crash, i remember i play that game to that night , dont know it was the last game i played.

If a game works can it corrupt my hdd when i close the game, hard to see when i test one working game on a empty hdd of it corrupt the hdd always or sometimes, i wanna know why a game act this way.

hmm i dont see Kung fu rider on that list from the games i have saved from the hdd, i lost this game and sonic, i dont get it, didnt see the files with Getdataback

Can't answer your question correctly but out of the list you posted I had black ops and SBKX Superbike World Championship on my hdd which got corrupted. Now have black ops only and not had any issues

Kung fu rider worked flawlessly, I played with my girlfriend approximately 1 hour, but after I quited the game the drive was corrupted. I found out that when you copy the game in the internal HD such thing does not happen.

Also the AC brotherhood does a corruption if it not copied in the internal drive...
