Erasing my tracks –
05-11-2011,09:39 AM
I'm totally out of the loop with the PS3 jailbreaking scene. I used a dongle to jailbreak my PS3 when it all started up and installed a few homebrew apps like Multiman and Blackbox FTP. Since then, I haven't touched my PS3 - not even turned it on.
I've had some fun with it, now I want to go back to OFW so I can get on PSN safely (if it ever comes back!). How can I erase all traces of homebrew from my PS3? Format HDD then install latest FW? Did Sony ever start up a ban wave that might detect my console if I don't cover my tracks well enough?
I'll probably get a cheap second hand PS3 at some point just for messing about with, but my current one is goin' straight!
Edit: By the way, I'm not on CFW - I never got around to installing that. I'm just on standard firmware and jailbreak at boot-up

You don't have to delete anything. Just update. I updated one of my ps3s to 3.60 when it first came out. It's completely safe.
