the end of ps3 cfw updates?

hi it seems from what i have read no one will risk or will discover how to play the latest games on 3.56 onwards. and so i have decided to sell my ps3. does anyone have any new info or possible hope of this ever happening before i sell?

nothing yet, unless you count DH JFW, which sounds like complete BS atm, other than that, i dont think so..

just sell it and get a 360 that is flashed if you care about free games so much

You know, maybe the op was referring to the fact that while he is on 3.55cfw or lower, he cannot play the latest games. Maybe he wants to have homebrew and be able to play the latest games LEGALLY but cannot have both options. It is highly possible he cannot afford a second PS3 just for the latest games. Give the guy a break.

Nahh dude... if he had legal games he would be on 3.72

I have Legal Games. But there are future games that I would like to play without being forced into updating when I dont want to becouse I would like to keep my Homebrew. For example: God of War Origions.

At the moment, the xbox cant play the newest games, GOW3 etc, I recon hang on till early december and see if anything comes of DHFW if not, you probably get a better price for your ps3 at that time of year.

idkk bro from my perspective of having 2 ps3's .... you just have to update to play the latest games... and homebrew (shrugs) most of it you can play on a computer.... most ppl with a jailbroken consoles dont have any intentions of buying the newer games... if so why sell your ps3 when you can update if you pay for the games (shrugs)

Totally not true!! The Xbox 360 can play all Games including all the new XGD3 Format Games for 2 weeks now.

And about the ps3... i would give up on it... i'm sad to come to that conclusion but its not worth the wait if you cant play anything that is not more then 3 months old. And it doesnt even matter if its an illegal or a legal copy of the game.

There isnt enough homebrew or modding to satisfy me. I'm using my ps3 to stream videos and music from my pc to my tv but even that can be down with my xbox. Not as good but it works.

Scene never end, but almost 1 year later it is disappointin. The famous sceners as kmeaw, Waninkoko, geohot, kakaroto the lawyers probably intimidated. were not doing something when he left each official firmware, like with PSP. Unfortunately I think the lucky ones who have 3.55, will not have to downgrade your console as there are solutions to play new games that require 3.5 +, but I doubt there's a new CFW in several more months to people with Firmware 3.72
