Homebrew releases for the PS3 have been average at best. Nothing like the quality the PSP received, even the Dreamcast and XBOX scene started out better.

It's not over yet but there's no denying the quality of the homebrew released so far has been abysmal.

the homebrew is shit. i got doom and heritic and shit on my ps3..yea it was fun for 30mins.

to many managers. a new manager every week that does everything the same as the first manager... a new look WOW!

i get sick of the managers. we need the "unified" manger to come out. one manager to rule them all.

even asbestos is mud. cant run anything on it that has a gui. why? cos noone can be ****ed with it.

i remember the start of the jb scene was promising otheros and all sorts of cool things...

then there were managers.... thats it.

there just isnt anyone skilled enough to do anything and i do think it will die soon if someone doesnt step up. ive said it all before.

Yes, but once again, how long did it take for the PSP to get the "good" homebrew? A long f'in time.

It really didn't though, I was using a full-speed Snes emulator on it, when only the swaploit exploit existed! That was when 1.51/1.52 firmware was the latest.

Homebrew was coming out of the PSPs ears from very early on.

The more i think about it, I couldnt give a damn if No new game could be played from here on in.

You have a library of over 300 games that you can pirate if that is your thing. with the money saved, you could easily but a new ps3 for new games and online play.

In less than 3 months we have a working Nes emu, a Snes emu, A DC emu in the works and a Arcade emu. Not to mention the legions of devs that are working on creating new interesting experiences for us, just for the kudos of saying they can do it.

from where im standing, the Ps3 is now rivalling the PC as the ultimate gaming machine. I only hope my Ps3 lasts the test of time, because I can quite honestly see myself playing it 10 years down the line with the abundance of games i now have access too. Compare that to July this year when the thing was gathering dust and i was continplating selling it.

its only a matter of time before people start putting attention on the multimedia side and the linux options are also being explored.

You warez kiddies kinda make me sick. Im not gonna say i dont sometimes pirate games , because I do. But the difference is im more than gratefull for what I have got and I feel no need to bytch just because the free ride may be over.

Bottom line, quit bytching or fcuk off and update. Either way your no use to anyone here and you give the people like myself who are genuinely grateful to the devs who are alot smarter, dedicated and benevolent than us a bad name.

you emu guys understand you can run emus on phones aye? so having the ps3 do it is no big deal.

only emu a ps3 should have is ps2, maybe one like a wii lol

Exactly. It's not that I didn't want a Snes emulator, but it isn't anything special.

The Dreamcast emulator drk|raziel teased a month or two ago raised my eyebrows, but nothing heard since a few screenshots and video was released.

Why shouldn't older systems be emulated some people grew up with those systems and love a little bit of nostalgia and i don't happen to own a phone thats worth a shit that'll run something like an emulator, so having them on my ps3 is great due to the fact i don't feel like using my ps2 anymore.
I also love the fact that i can run all my old classic games with 1080p and with shaders that make the games look amazing,

but as they say to each his own.

I believe 3.41 and older firmwares are clearly getting obsolete fast. After new years and into early next year the amount of titles just not working will be quite substantial that either someone cracks 3.50 and makes a cfw or some other major workaround is found. But ultimately 3.50 is the key.

homebrew is growing in number, ps3 linux is coming back, free sdk is well underway. lots of interesting developments are happening now, and this is the most interesting time in console's hacking history.

of course it would be ideal if people with more recent ps3 consoles could also access homebrew, while being able to run their games. but we have to be happy with what we have right now.

i grew up with them im 29. i guess im just sick of them now since every console ive owned has had them.
