ehh how have i managed t end up on 3.66--trying bluray bypass

ok long story short,2 ps3s 1 works but drive none responsive-would let me install cfw and pkgs but wouldnt let me run the pkgs or loaders ,ps3 2 ylod--drive mint--both uk 60gb machines

anyways figured id remarry new drive to old machine after some reading,then realised id need some form of dongle

so i saw the bluray bypass firmware and thought id have a play with that and see if my firmware wasnt installing something properly,anyway i tried KMEAW+BDB+SDC+3.55+FW thru xmb but no dice,so tried recovery,just locked up after a bit

booted back to xmb

after more reading i figured id have a go at qa flag downgrade,nothings happening,try recovery and it says the firmware file over 3.55 blah bla,nowt happening,figured id try xmb goes to system settings and im somehow on 3.66,ive not downloaded a 3.66,not connected to net im completley baffled here,i got the link from here and no bad comments saying it was iffy,i really dont know how this has happened,

not sure if its relevant but i still have all the fba rogeros and such showing up in xmb--cant launch just goes to black screen

any ideas,have i loaded some sort of spoofer into this,or has someone stuck a 3.66 file in something

id really appreciate some ideas here,cheers guys

Ummm did you download a spoofed 3.55 firmware that says 3.66? If that is the case as far as i know the only why to downgrade is via recovery.

no not that im aware,just the files in the pack mentioned above,it doesnt recodnise any updates in xmb at the mo,and in recovery it just hangs while searching for update,im well puzzled here too

have you tried service mode with a dongle?

aaarrrgh,i decided to to a system restore from recovery menu and now i just get a looping blue menu telling me system settings are corrupt and press x to format and restore,but that just keeps looping around,

im completley blagged here--have i fecked the damn thing

Without those 2 pieces of info, you won't be able to get good help.

You cannot run any pkg without a working and married drive, this is why you couldn't QA flag your PS3. You have to downgrade via service mode.
As for that blue screen, I have no idea what it could be, maybe you could make a picture of it?
Also, if recovery menu asks for 3.55 or higher, you installed a 3.55 FW spoofed to 3.66, which isn't a problem.

other than the fact it was on kwean 3.55,i think all that info is in the first post,

i will dig out my cam at take a picture of the blue screen

pereb by run do you mean install,or run the installed program

and is there any definitive way to know if the logic boards jiggered,as the drive seems to bo functioning,spins up,laser seems to be doing summat,ejects and loads fine--although there is no loading disc in corner when put a disk in

ok seems i may have had a brick of sorts,booted into recovery,put official 3.55 ofw on a freshly formatted usb stick,and tried updating thru there ,after what seems like an age it detects the update and attempts it,it then gets to 77 percent and errors out with 8002f14e,which i believe is a hard ware error,which would tell me that my logic board is fried-what threw me off was folk saying pkgs wouldnt run on faulty hardware,id taken this to mean they wouldnt install or run,wheras i can install them fine-means i swapped lasers for naught tho lol

right if i could ask for a little help here,im not even sure the drive in this machine is the right drive for the console originally,but i do have a know working one(logic board) so i can remarry assuming i can get out of this loop

what is the service mode jig i need,ive read that a psp can be used,but i dont have one,

.my plan of action so far is get a firmware installed on this thing so i can access xmb again--will try a brb 3.55,then i need to downgrade to 2.30(i think)but im sort of lost here now--im not one who enjoys asking for help,but im lost here could somebody tell me what i need/need to do to get this machine running-official or modded im not really fussed id just like it working

EDIT:ok getting exactally the same result with the bluray bypass firmwares gets to same point and same error code

just read elseware i can use android phone for service mode,is this right--ok after more reading it appears my phone isnt supported
