Ok I'm trying to patch eboot.bin for far cry 2 on GeoHOT 3.55 CFW. I copied the disk to the HDD, then FTP the USRDIR folder to my pc, then edited the EBOOT, and got the pkg installed. It installed fine, but when I loaded the game, it said error in starting operation (80010007).
I googled it and it had something to do with the edited ELF being longer than the original. The problem is, the original path is: dev_bdvd/PS3_GAME/USRDIR, I changed this to dev_hdd0/FARCRY02/USRDIR, exactly the same amount of letters, and I created the FARCRY02 directory in my internal hdd on the ps3 as well, so everything was correct, but it kept giving me the 80010007 error, I even tried it again and used FARCRY22, which also had 8 letters, and still the same error, help!

you must copy USRDIR in /dev_hdd0/FARCRY02/ if you have edit your eboot.bin

I did exactly that, still the error comes up. I copied the entire USRDIR folder into that directory except for the original eboot.bin, should i move modifed Eboot to that dev_hdd0 directory as well?

    Somes games use relative paths.

Try either creating a symlink between "/dev_hdd0/FARCRY02/USRDIR" and "/dev_hdd0/game/BLUS30178/USRDIR" with multiman or just moving the files to "/dev_hdd0/game/BLUES30178/USRDIR".

I could ofcourse be wrong about this being the case with the game. And some games wont work even if it can find the files, so no garuntees.
