yeah it works for the 360 why not the ps3? just delete the update or replace the ps3update.pup with a lower version one? and edit the .sfo

I think he is just suggesting, He is wrong by the way, The game checks that your firmware is greater than 3.42, more importantly there is an API in 3.42 which does not exist in 3.41, meaning, This way they make sure, you can't run any new games because the executable requires that API. so unless we crack the EBOOT.bin, we cannot do anything, get over it.

I can't confirm it but someone wrote in major DL site:

Basically it was corrupting data everytime I got around the 3.42 update, but I carried on messing about and got it sorted. I had to remove all data from the PS3 for F1, replace the PS3_UPDATE with 3.41 and it seemed to work.


I can't check it out atm.

I'm not sure it will be as easy as editing the PARAM.SFO or changing the PS3UPDATE file. This shit is going to get really complicated.
