EcliPS3 on board memory size?
EcliPS3 on board memory size? –
So I was wondering if this clone has either 16k or 32k onboard memory. Thanks in advance.
So I got a response from the team but only useful info I got from them was that is was in fact an Amtel board. I myself am afraid to disassemble mine to go any further. I can state however using EcliPS3 updater 1.2 I was able to flash my hex from PSGrooPIC 1.6b (great job to all those involved in that project as well and iLLNESS as well for the 360 NAND SPi files but the 32k of that I found limiting, well that and fall update is coming out soon for the 360 so I reinstalled it :lol; anyhow back on track) and all went well just the LED's were fincky. I tried all hex's released but found out that AT90USBKEY.hex (with Hermes v3 and Waninkoko mods) works perfectly with the timing of the LED's and all. Now that file is in fact 33.0k (36.0k on disk) so I know it has to be at least 32k as I know all of the 33k of data will not go on the chip.
So now I am guess I am asking if it is 32k or maybe even 64k (fingers crossed as I LOVE this dongle it is so versatile) or do you think it will be enough room as it is? I recall hearing something of reallocating data to save space somewhere but I maybe wrong there anyhow but I am mostly curious of this asbestOS and if I will be able to use it or any other neat features.
The X3Max 128k sounds nice but I don't want to be tied down to their DEV team for updates while my current solution will just import new payloads. So may questions I have about this chip, why has no one heard of it? Cheap, versatile, compact, cool LED's, and best of all compatible with PSFreedom/PSGroove and certain ports like PSGrooPIC, but it doesn't have much documentation so I guess just memory size will do me for for...
Last time i swear, is there anyway I could test with just software using my PC without removing the casing? And should I so get so daring to remove the case will it do me any good to find the memory size removing the casing or would it just be a 1 year warranty and my time?

I always thought that most of these dongles were 16/32KB :S. Not sure if it is 64KB or not, but the HEX file size makes me think twice...although maybe not all the data from the hex file is flashed so it might in fact just have 32KB of memory on board.
If that doesn't satisfy you, opening the case is always an option. Do they have some sort of security seal on it, or can you open it quite easily? Anyway, I'll say it again, I really think it has either 16/32KB onboard but the hex file size makes me think it's 32KB.
