I just bought a second ps3 (fat 20GB cechb BW compatible) BD not working I can only play ps2 games (not a preblem)

my plan is to use this one for homebrew and stuff and update my ps3 slim (I miss playing online)

the problem is that is on the FW vercion 4.50!
I´ve been browsing around on how to downgrade and the posseble way for me to do it is with my Iphone 2g or ipod video 5g (my corrent method I use to jailbreak)

I read that using the ipod video is very unstable and hardly found positive coments on it

the iphone 2g hard prosses but I think I cand do it, but in the coments that I read people had problems in the prosses

what do you guys thing?
what methot should I use?
can you tell me you experience on downgrading?

or should I wait a cuple or weeks to see if something esear and more effective comes out
