Downgraded from 3.55 to 3.41 and now I cant install custom firmware!!

Need some help here. I have a 120GB PS3 Slim (it came with 3.41 factory) and I recently upgraded to Geohots CFW 3.55 to give it a spin then decided to downgrade back to 3.41 using this method: http://psx-scene.com/forums/f118/ser...working-74803/

Anyway, after that deleted everything I had (and I backed up my saves of course) I attempted to re-upgrade to 3.55 (to restore my PSN account so my Fallout NV save would work) however, even though the firmware I downloaded is official 3.55 it says "The data is corrupted" and it quits the update. I tried recovery and it says I need to select an update that is at LEAST 3. 56 to update...yet system information says I have 3.41!! I even tried running factory mode and no luck... any ideas/fixes I'm missing here??

BUMP! cos exact same thing is happening to me, except i downgraded of OFW3.55 about a week ago.

This is a known bug from downgrading 3.55

Your system is semi-bricked.

You didn't read the tutorial. You have to downgrade the old way to lower firmware, like 3.40 and then upgrade to 3.41. Then you will have a normal 3.41 system.

ah crap, how do i downgrade to lower firmware then?

has any of you guys tried downgrading again except this time use the first downgrade method that was posted by all the dongle manufacturers

The downgrade method actually puts your ps3 to modified 3.41 ala ' 3. 56 '. So, you need to downgrade first before upgrading to 3.55 ofw.

I did that : 3.55gh -> 3.41 modded -> 3.40 ofw -> 3.41 ofw. Then I have a proper system.

hi need some help i have a ps3 slim 160gb cech-2503a with 3.55 on it not sure if it came with that how can i downgrade to 3.41 if i can that is because ive heard that it cant be done on this system i have a ps3 break v1.2 just not sure what else i need and what to do please can someone help
