Downgrade without Bluray Playback Loss?

So I recall hearing of a modded lv2.diag that allows for downgrading without the loss of bluray playback on 256mb NAND consoles. Anyhow I know my deck doesn't format the drive so I am cool with that just don't want to lose bluray playback as my actual bluray player is on the fritz. Anyhow if someone knows of the lv2.diag I am asking about could you help me out as I keep finding the "normal" downgrade files. I have a total backup of my NAND (all three dev_flash) in case just want to avoid it if possible.

I believe it was released by JaiCrab, and it was mainly for downgrading a console that had a blu-ray drive on the fritz. From what I remember about the thread though, is it didn't work for everyone. I believe it was a recent news submission if that helps though.

It's easier just to use an ftp program to copy the dev_flash3 folder to your pc, then copy it back when you are done.
All firmware updates have a version 1 DRL file inside them. It is not overwritten during an update because the one on the Ps3 is newer. When you downgrade though, it just overwrites everything because it's in blind write mode.

Ill just FTP the files over then as I don't want to be a test subject to see if t works. Thanks a lot guys!!
