Downgrade PS3 Firmware

Hey,

My buddy got a modchip from me, he told me he wasn't in the internet with the ps3 for months but now he told me the chip isn't working and suddenly he says that he had been a few times in the psn for demos etc.

Im quite sure he got 3.42, is there any way to downgrade it to 3.41 to get the chip running?

You can't downgrade firmware! Modchip? For PS3? Don't think so!
