    I can't find any conclusive evidence that the app makes the game.dat file read only. I ran the app and used its option to make history read only then I navigated to the pushlist folder and copy the 3 files (patch.dat, game.dat, video.dat) to my usb stick. I viewed their properties in windows and all 3 were not read-only.

    nothing to do with permissions on pc ...
    I assure you, .dats are set to "444 ", simply check with a hex editor the file content difference in time.
    If read-only will always equal content.

    so if thats the case then maybe wipe history doesnt work either.
