Does PS Groove/JB etc work with USB hubs?

Wondering because the PS Slims only have 2 USB Ports.

i have mine plugged into my usb hub and also have my band hero dongles plugged into the same hub. no probs whatsoever.

now if i plug the jb directly into the ps3 with the usb hub connected in the other port, the jb won't work.
