Hi there.. i had been reading many post and try to find the answer about my problem but i couldnt find anythings relate to it so i have to ask for your guy advice.. anyway

my bro has an ps3 slim 160GB running OFW3.41 + usb dongle jailbreak + OM1.17
and i am using the same PS3 slim 160gb but running CFW3.55 kmeaw + mulitman 1.16

both have nothing wrong with it.. but when it come to backup games., we both backup the same game, the game is about 6gb. my brother ps3 took about 15mins to complete the backup.. but my ps3 is way slower and need about 80+ mins to finish.

i remember when i was on OFW 3.41 + usb dongle jailbreak + OM. the back up process are pretty fast too.. most games can finish copying 15-30mins.. nothing is over 1hr except games over 40gb like GW3 or maybe FF13,

does any users who using CFW 3.55 kmeaw has the same slow backup problem as me?. or it just me and am i missing somethings?. thank you.

when i upgrade to cfw 3.55 from 3.41.. i just install the cfw 3.55 from ofw 3.55. didn't go to ofw 3.55 than cfw 3.55 and after i install cfw 3.55 i format the hdd which i shouldnt need to..

are you trying the latest version of MM?

i remember that in one of the later versions, deanr improved the backup speed.
but i have to say that 80min for 6GB is not fast indeed.

yes i am on the latest version of MM. i was only estimate about 80 mins.. but didn't really time it.. but i am sure its over 1 hr. 6+ gb for 1 hr is still long.. thx for the reply.
oh and i tried FTP black box. and try transfer the game to ps3 from pc. but the speed are almost the same ..

there is no control in your tests, use the same game and same manager on both and then see if the times are different. Using diff managers is bound to result in different back up speeds

i guess you're trying to ftp with wireless?
with me (direct connect pc to ps3) 6GB takes about 5-10min

backing up takes 10-30min's (depend's on the game, small or larger files)

if you see different speed using the same apps/games, make sure you try with the same network cable on the same port on your switch/router, and if you still having that problem, look in your ethernet input slot to see how much dirt there is in there or if there is rust.

Are you sure it's the same MODEL? Each consecutive PS3 revision had a faster bluray drive.

i tried backup a game off the external hdd to both ps3 internal hdd. the speed are still a big diff..

Read/write speeds differ on many variables. The hard drives could have different rpm. One drive might be going bad. One might not be defragmented (you can defrag in the recovery menu, it's called Rebuild Database. If you do that, backup you xregistry.sys in /dev_flash2/etc/) A resistor between the power source and the drive might be wearing out or too strong. That's just to name a few. Like i said, MANY variables
