    Hi,

I have 2 original 60gb Phat PS3's One unmodified for legally playing all my purchased games and one that is Jailbroken to be honest just for fun & to experiment! my question is do many people have their JB PS3's connected to the net still? I notice the game update option in Multiman & also the fact that you can update Multiman online leads me to think it may be safe to do so?

    Thoughts please?

It's fine to have it connected to the internet, but bear in mind that if you update your ps3 then it's your own fault.. Don't worry it's safe to use the "tv icon" and use the "multiman update " function, in my opinion it could be beneficial to use the internet on your ps3 but it's your choice.

I myself have never unhooked from the net, it's just more convenient to update that way

I don't want connect my PS3 to the internet because i'm not trust enough closed src homebrew apps (and i don't want spending fre time viewing traffic logs ;]). The same reason i've never replace certificates.

So... everything i update manually which is not a big deal. ;]

Perhaps a poll would have been best to gauge how many do or don't.

I am one that don't allow my PS3 to be online, I have it's MAC addressed blocked on my router and this doesn't allow it to be online in the internet. Though my PS3 still has access to my home network. But it can't see the internet at all. It's just a safety precaution of mine.

i was recently in another thread wondering why people use version spoofers because i could let a 3 yr old play my ps3 and i wouldnt worry about it getting updated.

3.55 is connected but never signed up

3.66 is connected and registered, with a crapload of psn purchases. If it was easy for everyone to afford a 2nd ps3, i'm sure they would

Never had a problem, easiest way to update

My broken FW3.15 Fat (WIP) & CFW3.55 Slim have never seen the internet. The word online is foreign to them.

Thanks for all the replies guys, I must admit it would be easier for me to have it connected to the internet for updates, but my 3 kids play on this alot & I am sure I would come home one day to find it updated as I cannot trust myself to remember to enable/disable when needed...I guess I must stick with the USB for updating Multiman. Just a further question which is the easiest/most reliable way to update the games? My "Offline" PS3 is connected to my home network if that helps?

    Cheers Again!
