About LinkBacksHi All,
I will be collecting a 320GB Slim tomorrow (hopefully will still be on 3.41 as its from a trade in shop - will check before I buy)
Anyway, question is....
When setting up a new PS3 do I actually need a PSN account or can I just use it as a stand alone games console with blu-ray.
I DO....
Watch Blu-ray,
Play Games (offline)
I DONT....
Need a friends list,
Need online play
As I asked above would I need to have a PSN account for this, or can I just jailbreak and use it as it is, without any problems.

12-12-2010,10:21 PMYou should also know that if you get a system with 3.5, then you need to downgrade it which has a SLIGHT risk if its a slim system of loosing blu-ray playback and if it is a phat system, then it has a HIGH chance of loosing blu-ray playback. And if its already on 3.55, then your screwed for the time being.

12-13-2010,03:28 AMi dunno is it true or just the server issue but some encounters problem getting JB PSN games to work and prompted with errors when trying to update a game be it PSN or blu ray if the user account has no psn. though we are sure that our JB PS3 we do not need to login to play the JB PSN or Blu ray disc but if the existing ones have a psn account (left offline) all the JB psn and game update works fine.
i have always keep a copy of my ps3 backup just incase
